About Calm Dog Guide
Hi, I'm Carlos, the person behind Calm Dog Guide.
Anyone who has searched for dog training advice online knows the problem: for every helpful article there are ten that contradict each other, and too many still recommend yelling, leash jerks or shock collars. I started this site to put clear, humane, science-based advice in one place — written in plain language, with step-by-step instructions you can actually follow.
What I am — and what I'm not
I'm not a certified dog trainer, and I'll never pretend to be one. My job here is research and clear writing: I read the guidance of certified trainers, veterinary organizations and established dog publications, and turn it into practical guides. That's exactly why:
- I only recommend courses created by certified professionals.
- I only recommend force-free, reward-based methods.
- I always tell you when a problem — like aggression or severe anxiety — needs a vet or a behavior professional instead of an online course.
How I review courses
I compare courses on the creator's credentials, the training methods they use, how complete and structured the program is, the price and refund policy, and what established independent reviewers say. My descriptions are based on each course's official information and third-party reviews, and I point out the downsides as clearly as the upsides.
How this site makes money
The guides are free. Some links on this site are affiliate links: if you buy a course through them, I may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes what I recommend. You can read the details in our affiliate disclosure.
